The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Loconto Penta as the new Chair of its Women’s Network Advisory Board. Loconto Penta, the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at MIDIOR, assumes the role from outgoing Chair, Yvonne Garcia of State Street Corporation.
In her role as Chair, Loconto Penta will lead a diverse and dynamic group of senior-level women from the Chamber’s Board of Directors and membership. The Advisory Board helps to shape the vision and strategy of the Women’s Network to successfully connect, advance, and celebrate professional women. The multifaceted Women’s Network features prominent speakers, impactful networking, and transformative events that cover critical issues affecting women, as well as the annual Pinnacle Awards, the most prestigious celebration of professional women in the region.
“Congratulations to Susan, our incoming Chair. Our Women’s Network continues to grow with women and allies at all levels of their careers, celebrating and amplifying the community as well as strategizing on the challenges and opportunities that women face in the workplace, and I know that Susan will advance the Women’s Network’s impact and legacy even further. The Greater Boston Chamber is incredibly proud of the Women’s Network, including the Advisory Board, the powerful events, and the unmistakable, unique energy of the platform, and I want to thank Yvonne Garcia, our previous Chair, for her considerable investments to help build and strengthen this network,” said James E. Rooney, President & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.
“I am both humbled and honored to have the opportunity to work with the Chamber team and my amazing Advisory Board colleagues to connect, inform and lift up professional women and their male allies in Greater Boston. Now more than ever, we look to our local communities to create the stable foundations that can serve as platforms for future growth and it is organizations like the Women’s Network that strengthen their fabric and ensure they thrive. Together, I am confident we will continue the impactful work of our predecessors and in so doing, support the professional women of Greater Boston in their roles as beacons for innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and business success,” said Susan Loconto Penta.
“Congratulations to Susan as she begins her time as Chair. I know that thousands more women and allies will continue to be reached and influenced, helping to advance workplaces where women can thrive. I know that her commitment to the Women’s Network will drive the future of the platform as well as the future of a more inclusive Greater Boston business community. It has been wonderful to serve such an important platform that is helping to elevate professional women in all industries,” said Yvonne Garcia.
